Best Nudist Beaches around the World
Not everyone wants to spend their honeymoon sightseeing, shopping, or cruising. Some couples are content to spend their private time relaxing on a sunny, white sand beach, even a nude beach. Although American laws discourage nude sunbathing, other areas of the world offer a number of nude – or semi-nude – and scenic beaches. Among the best of these are:
Plage de Tahiti, St. Tropez France
Although many of the beaches along the French Riviera are made up of small pebbles, the beaches surrounding the chic resort town of St. Tropez are all white sand. One of the most popular is the Plage de Tahiti, located just outside of town. The crowd is part topless, part nude, and mostly young.
In town, you can enjoy strolling along the yacht harbor, dining al fresco at one of the many seaside cafes, and pretending you're rich and famous for the day.
Paradise Beach, Mykonos
Located at the base of a steep incline, Paradise Beach is a favorite of adventuresome vacationers. The mix is about 50% topless and about 30% nude (with the other 20% presumably working up their nerve). The setting, as with most beaches on Mykonos, is idyllic. Services include a beachside taverna and two bars.
Mykonos, in the middle of the Aegean Sea, is a popular tourist resort, with picturesque white-washed buildings, a bustling port, tasty cuisine, and friendly, welcoming residents.
Beach at Hedonism II Resort, Negril Jamaica
Almost anything goes at this adults-only resort on the southern tip of Negril Beach. There's a nude hot tub, clothing-optional beach, and plenty of adult fun to go around. Oh yeah, the natural scenery is pretty spectacular, too. Negril is known for its party atmosphere, and the seven-mile beach is lined with casual beachfront bars.
Samurai Beach, Australia
Site of the annual nude Olympics held in November, this active beach is just outside of Port Stephens. The half-mile stretch of sand is known for its nude volleyball, Frisbee tournaments, and other active beach sports.
Orient Beach, St. Martin
Most of the beaches in the French Caribbean allow semi-nude sunbathing, but Orient Beach on the east coast of St. Martin takes it a step further. This somewhat secluded beach is a mecca for daring couples. The site is protected, the water turquoise, and the sea breeze refreshing.
St. Martin, just east of Puerto Rico, is half-French, half-Dutch, and offers duty-free shopping, delicious French Creole restaurants, and casino gambling.
Montalivet, France
Located on the Atlantic coast of France, this enclave was where the International Naturist Movement began in the 1950s. Today, the resort has 1800 campsites, 172 bungalows, and offers a myriad of activities, such as art classes, yoga, and soccer, as well as the long, secluded sand beach.
