Last Minute Mexican Honeymoon Specials

MexicJust two weeks after Hurricane Dean plowed into the Yucatan Peninsula and Hurricane Henriette threatened the country's Pacific Coast, Mexico is welcoming and enticing visitors with a host of special packages. Artemio Santos, CEO of the Mexico Tourist Board, told "Travel Agent" magazine that "all of the major tourist sites in the country remained unscathed." Current Specials include:

Pleasant Holidays - The California-based tour operator is offering a $150 activity credit to those who book a package to Cancun or the Riviera Maya for a stay between September 20 and December 31, 2007.

Apple Vacations — Philadelphia-based Apple Vacations has lowered their package rates to a number of Yucatan resorts for fall travel. For example, three-night packages from Philadelphia are just $809.99 at the Riu Palace Mexico and $909.99 at the Dreams Cancun Resort and Spa. Both rates are based on double occupancy and include airfare, accommodations, all meals and entertainment, bar drinks, and a variety of watersports.

Club Med — Club Med offers a number of Internet-only "last minute" specials. This week, they are offering Cancun for $399/adult and $199/child for a three-night stay (based on two adults staying in the room.)

Villa Premiere Hotel & Spa — This 83-room beachfront resort in Puerto Vallarta is offering a $389/couple per night , which includes accommodations in a premiere oceanfront room with its own indoor Jacuzzi, a welcome glass of Champagne, butler service, and an in-room aromatherapy treatment. The rate is good for travel through December 21, 2007 with a minimum three-night stay.
