Sante Fe History

Sante Fe traces its history back further than most cities in the United States. Founded between 1601 and 1607, it is the second oldest city in the country (behind St. Augustine, Florida). "Settled" by the Spanish, Sante Fe remained Spain's provincial capital until the Spanish-American War ceded the territory to the United States in 1848. Today, the city's Spanish and Native American heritage is still widely evident.

Take a QE2 Honeymoon Now for a Last Chance at Travel History

QE2Cunard's Queen Elizabeth II is retiring. Don't worry, though; she's taking her time and doing it gracefully, as befits a queen. New US Passport Restrictions on Hold

Honeymoon PassportJust when you thought you understood the new US passport requirements for to Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, and the Caribbean, there's been another change. It seems, the backlog of waiting to be processed has become so extreme that the Bush administration is permitting those wishing to travel to the above named countries via air to do so with a state-issued or government-issued ID plus a receipt from the US State Department Web site (LINK TO: http://travel.state.gove). This new accommodation is in effect until September 30, 2007. Passengers who have not yet applied for a passport for summer travel should not expect to be accommodated.
