The Carnival Freedom

On Board the New Carnival Freedom

Carnival Cruises, always a good choice for a fun, activity-filled honeymoon, launched their newest ship, the Carnival Freedom, on March 5. The Carnival Freedom, the first new Carnival Cruise liner in two years, is 952 feet long and holds up to 2974 passengers. In keeping with her "Freedom" moniker, the new liner has an American theme, with replica of the Statue of Liberty in one of the dining rooms and a red, white, a ragtime-theme piano bar, and blue color scheme throughout.

Features on the Carnival Freedom include a mardi gras-like promenade; a Viennese coffee house; and "Waterworks," a complex with four pools, a twister waterslide, and a huge LED video screen that will display movies.

The 1487 rooms and suites, many of them with private balconies, include flat-screen TVs, ample closet space, and wireless Internet access.

The Carnival Freedom is spending the summer in Europe, sailing the Mediterranean and Greek Isles. After the summer, she will sail to Ft. Lauderdale, where she will cruise alternately the Western and Eastern Caribbean.
