Vayama – New Interactive Travel Booking Site
Planning an independent honeymoon free from organized tours and perhaps just wondering what to do and where to go to enjoy the best romantic honeymoon? Well there’s some great news for you called Vayama.
First there were Orbitz and Expedia; then came the auction sites, such as Priceline, and the user-driven sites, such as TripAdvisor. Now, there's Vayama, an interactive, visually-oriented travel Web site, owned by a Dutch travel conglomerate that includes a European ticket consolidator, a travel agency, and the Park n' Fly airport parking company.
Currently in the Beta stage, Vayama lets you plot your travel route on a map of the world. You can also click on your destination and see the nearest airports and airfares. The database is huge and includes many airlines and routes that don't make in onto other booking sites.
Affiliated with Vayama (and linked from the site) is WeGoLo, a great resource for finding low-fare airlines, particularly within Europe. The site also presents you with a customized car rental offer when you confirm your flights. There's no obligation to book it, but it saves making a separate search for a car rental.
